What To Expect As A Speaker

As a speaker at a PEMA luncheon you can expect and average of 50 - 60 PEMA members and guests in the luncheon audience. Our meeting place is Hs. Lordships in Berkeley (at the Berkeley Marina). Hs. Lordships provides a microphone, podium, and overhead projector and screen. Some speakers use the projector and screen, while others speak just from their notes. If you prefer to show a PowerPoint presentation and need a digital projector you can either bring your own or contact one of the PEMA Board members so that we can arrange to provide one for you. If we provide the digital projector, it's usually best if the speakers email the presentation in advance so that we can have it loaded and ready to go.

The PEMA luncheons usually begin at 11:15am. From 11:15am to around noon, members and guests mingle and network with each other. It's best for speakers to arrive by 11:30am to make sure that everything is in order for their presentation. Starting around noon our luncheon buffet begins and general membership announcements are made. Speakers usually begin their talk around 12:15pm. If there are multiple speakers that day, speakers should limit their talk to 15 minutes, with questions to follow after all speakers have given their talks. If you are the only speaker that day, then a talk of 20 - 25 minutes is in order, with questions to follow.

Thanks in advance for being a speaker at PEMA!
